Port of Play is an indoor play park serving the Astoria and surrounding community.  It is geared towards children ages 2-10, with an active place space (bicycles, trikes, scooters, climbers, push toys, a bounce house etc.), and an interactive play space (lego table, pretend restaurant, work bench and more).  Families utilize this space when the weather is unfavorable, or when then just want a great place to get out some energy.

 

Under general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator to plan, organize, implement, and supervise recreation program activities including but not limited to child care, sport programs and guest services. This position is responsible for a range of services, including recreation programming, staffing, and related work as required.

1. Promotes, and evaluates recreation programs.

2. Evaluates the effectiveness of current programs and develops sound recommendations concerning adjusting programs.

3. Provides program supply lists and develops curriculum for scheduled programs.

4. Provides recommendations to the Recreation Coordinator on program scheduling and staff scheduling.

5. Oversees facility supplies and appearance.

6. Recommends and assists in the implementation of goals and objectives; establishes and maintains schedules and methods for recreation activities.

7. Interacts successfully with the general public, program participants, staff, and supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license; safe driving record; CPR and First Aid certification preferred, and passage of criminal background check.
